Tenerife is loved for its tropical climate and coastline. When visiting Tenerife, there are many different activities that you can do. Scuba diving can be a risky activity in comparison to others you might do while on Tenerife. For instance, an accident may necessitate treatment in a hyperbaric chamber. This can be quite expensive, costing well over 3000 Euros. Most of the time health insurance policies will not cover this kind of treatment because the incident occurred in a foreign country.

However, if you have travel insurance this kind of medical treatment would be covered. Keep in mind though that according to some insurance companies, scuba diving is rated as a high risk activity. Therefore, you may need to take out some additional coverage for scuba diving. Typically, the additional coverage is not expensive and definitely well worth it if you should happen to need it while on holiday in Tenerife.

Having travel insurance from does protect you against other unforeseen situations beside medical problems. Travel insurance also covers certain expenses that you might incur due to your travel plans. Many times things happen that are simply out of your control. Unfortunately, these events may cause you to have to cancel your travel plans to Tenerife.
